Minute 59

 Minute 59 (by Konstantine Brinkmann)

– The story behind „Bread baked in a pot”

My first minute gave me something to think about as there was not much happening apart from a caravan slowly crossing the desert in the distance.
Just as the video, my process to finding a fitting topic to my minute, was slow. I took my time to find an idea way ahead of my presentation date. As I had been baking a lot in the past few months, I finally came to a decision – bread takes a long time to sit in order to develop an intense and exceptional taste before it can be baked. So, suitably for the duration of the video, I planned to record an audio file reading my favorite bread recipe aloud – unknowingly that the process of creating the perfect audio was going to be a time-consuming procedure. Nevertheless, after many unsuccessful attempts, I finally found my rhythm to cover the exact time frame of my minute. Even though, I had found my pace, it still took me numerous tries to ultimately have the perfect version of my bread recipe audio file.
My last step before finishing was to pair my audio file with the video of my minute, which turned out to be the fastest part of the whole preparation process.
In class, after having explained the unexplainable route of how on earth a caravan in the desert could somehow work with a bread recipe, I presented some of my latest “bread works” to class, hoping not to upset someone too badly for not bringing any to class.
