Minute 11

Minute 11

In minute 11 the scene moves from showing a camel in the desert to a ship on the ocean. The observer can see a camel and a person in desert from a distance. However, the perspective shifts in the ocean-part. Here, it appears the observer him/herself is on the ship in the middle of the ocean. Both, the desert and the ocean share similarities despite their differences. Firstly, it might appear that both spheres have nothing in common as a desert is dry and the ocean wet. Nonetheless, both places are huge and appear endless once you are there. Standing in the middle of the desert or on a ship in the middle of the ocean makes either place never-ending. The collage for minute 11 shows this exact occurrence and what feelings can be transmitted by the place as well as while watching the minute. On the left is the desert in warm earthy tones and on the right the sea in dark greyish blue tones. Still, the pictures convey similar messages, which are put into words such as endless, untold, dread, unknown, solitude, alone, eternity, never-ending, boundless and fear.
