Minute 30

 Minute 30 (by Kristin Wagner)

My first thoughts when I saw minute 30 of Decasia were, "Wow there's a lot happening in those 60 seconds!" My minute 30 was the opposite of many other minutes where, except for some indefinable blur and shape, there was hardly anything to see. However, because there was so much going on in my minute, I was initially overwhelmed and clueless about how to creatively express myself engaging with it. After talking about it with a fellow student, he gave me the hint to think about life and how much happens in our lives sometimes without us really noticing it that way. That was the birth of my idea.

So, I started recording a lot of the little things in my life that I think make up life, like a walk in nature, a hearty breakfast in the morning, or flowers. I then edited these snapshots from my life together with the film sequences from the film minute of Decasia and created a compilation from them. In the background, I read a letter to my two-year-old nephew about enjoying the little things in life because they make life worth living and life goes by incredibly fast anyway.
