Minute 29

 Minute 29 (by Helena Kunkel)

The combination of different scenes between people, close-ups on their faces and the blurred, flickering patches because of the damaged film roll had me thinking about the issue of memory and memory loss. The images seem just like the inner film somebody would see in their mind when they tell the story of this string of meaningful events in their early lives — only with the years the details begin to disappear, a once clear image becomes blurred, or maybe, in case of dementia, even fade away. The dialogue in my adaptation explores this idea and the feelings of being faced with memory loss through a conversation between two people, whose parts are expressed through image and voice-over respectively.
