Minute 13

Minute 13 (By Julia Meusel)

I’ve gotten my minutes on an USB-Stick and it had been laying around in my room for a couple of days. When I woke up quite early for my classes I thought: ‘Why not watch my minutes real quick?’ So I put the USB-Stick into my Laptop and started minute 13. My volume was set on 100% and therefore I was extremely frightened. The whole video gave me chills. Throughout the day I kept thinking about my feelings when watching the video. Soon I realized that the colours and the music caused me to feel anxious and scared. And I thought: “What if the video/film would be coloured and the underlying music would be happier.”

Why do colours and sounds influence our feelings and our behaviour? I wanted to present a coloured version of the video, but I didn’t want to simply use a filter on the minute and present this to class. Therefore, I used two screenshots, I coloured one with simple crayons, the other one with an App on my iPad. Then I presented my ideas to the class. My fellow students were very interested and gave me great feedback.
