Minute 42

Minute 42 (by Kristin Wagner)

My second film minute, minute 42, was much easier for me. The idea for my project for minute 42 was the tomb inscription "Hatatcha", which could be seen at the beginning of the sequence.

I then began googling the term "Hatatcha" and found that she was a character in The Last Egyptian: A Romance of the Nile by L. Frank Baum. The novel has three main characters named Gerald Winston, Kāra and Tadros. Hatatcha is a princess and Kāra's grandmother. She is a cruel old woman and, on her deathbed, reveals information about a treasure that none of the protagonists knew about.

Consequently, I created an inner monologue about what the man next to her grave is thinking as he apparently checks to see if Hatatcha is dead. In the process, I made up some additional information and invented an open ending for the story, with the men sharing the treasure they found with their wives, leading a merry life.
