Minute 47

 Minute 47 (by Fatih Eger)

When I first watched the video clip, I couldn't figure out what tied the two scenes together. But then, in the second scene, where the men looked like they were climbing over each other in what seemed like a sewer, it reminded me of the idea of capitalism. It felt like those men represented the working class, struggling to move up in society by competing cruelly.
This idea of competition and the desire to improve one's status became the main point of my interpretation. It made sense when I thought about the first scene, where well-dressed people were walking in a nice square with beautiful cars and shiny stores around. It seemed to represent a higher social class.
As for me, those naked men in the second scene symbolized people trying to change their lives and become more successful, just like many people in our society. To make my point even stronger, I added a song by Metallica (Sad but True) which, in my opinion, criticizes the system, as well.
So, to put it simply, what I wanted to create in my work is about displaying the fight between different social classes, the desire for a higher status, and highlighting this idea with a song with powerful lyrics.
