Minute 22

 Minute 22 (by Madiha Rana)

Minute 22 shows glimpse of a fun fair; however, the music and the darkening screen add a dark twist to it. Therefore, the short poem thematises movement, round forms, a fun fair and finiteness. The poem combines the glory of fun fairs and the sadness of finiteness. The background of the poem shows different seconds of the minute. To that I have added lights and fireworks to demonstrate fun fair gleams and lights. The twist, which is shown in minute 22, is also embraced in the poem. While a fun fair is associated with fun and laughter, it can also have melancholic undertone by remembering that moments do not last forever. This realisation occurs as one grows older and remembers past moments of fun fairs and considers how life has changed since then. Nothing is certain in the world and life moves on exactly like fun fair rides. Yet, moments at a fun fair can overshadow the finiteness of life.
