Minute 53

 Minute 53 (by Mirela Manic)

The reason I wanted to talk about my family, or focus on memories, was because I first saw two birds in the video and only then realized they were war planes. So, I talked about the war. I was referring to three things. Once I took a picture that was supposed to show the pre-war period. Then I wrote the story about my grandmother's sister and finally a diary entry about a nine-year-old child. When I presented my stuff, I realized how I hit the audience. I just wanted to show the seminar that I had an emotional connection to my minute. Even though I wasn't there myself during the war, I sometimes feel like a contemporary witness, because the stories about my family are so emotional that you can put yourself in their place for a moment. I think it's the same with film, because at that moment you live in the film for a short time and forget everything else around you. So, I wanted to take the seminar back to 1992 for a moment and share the memories.
